Templates for C code generation

Postby Guest » Wed Sep 10, 2003 9:32 am

I understand that the Java version can use templates
to influence the contents of the generated java files.

It seems that the embedded (C) edition does not do that.
Is that correct, and are there any plans for that?

Thanks.

It's a little bit different. Poseidon's code generation feature is always using templates, no matter what target language you are choosing. The Professional Edition allows for changing the templates used for java code generation. This way the user can customize the way java code is generated (e.g. default headers, indentation etc.).

This all is true for the Embedded Edition as well. The code generation for C/C++ is also based on templates, but in contrast to the Java part these templates are not readable. Their content is IP of our partner company and I don't know of any plans to make them readable.

You may be able to customize your own C templates using UMMF: http://ummf.sourceforge.net/

I can possibly help you develop a template, but you'll need to specify how you want do implement message dispatching in C. :)
