install jvm.dll

Postby Guest » Mon Jul 28, 2003 10:15 am

when installing PoseidonCE1_6_1_02Installer.exe on win98 i got a 'could not load jvm.dll' error.

my autoexec.bat contains:
SET CLASSPATH=c:\PROGRA~1\JAVA\J2RE1.4.0\LIB\RT.JAR;.
SET JAVA_HOME=c:\PROGRA~1\JAVA
SET JAVAC_HOME=c:\PROGRA~1\JAVA\BIN
SET PATH=%PATH%;%JAVA_HOME%\BIN;%JAVAC_HOME%

i've just been using java in dos with 'java XXX' and 'javac XXX.java' comands which works fine. Any suggestions?

Hi, maybe some other program has added data to your PATH variable already, choosing some other JVM. Please post the output of "echo %PATH%" and "echo %CLASSPATH%", and the output of "java -version", these show the real state of your variables, not just how you would like them to be :-)

Best regards

I have the same issue installing 3.1 and running 3.0.1. In answer to per's question, the settings are as follows;

C:\Documents and Settings\LEATHERS>echo %PATH%
C:\WINDOWS\system32;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\System32\Wbem;C:\Program Files\vision;C:\Program Files\vision\system;C:\Program Files\Common Files\vision;C:\Program F
iles\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\BINN;C:\Program Files\Interwoven\WorkSite\;x:\batch

C:\Documents and Settings\LEATHERS>echo %CLASSPATH%
%CLASSPATH%

C:\Documents and Settings\LEATHERS>java -version
java version "1.5.0_02"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_02-b09)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_02-b09, mixed mode, sharing)

I had the same problem.
i fixed it that way:
- download the zip-file
- set/create the environmentvar 'JAVA_HOME' and set its value to the path of your jdk-installdir.
- then add the value '%JAVA_HOME%\bin'(below windows) to the environmentvar 'PATH'
