Hello Steve,
you can get the draft specification from the OMG:
http://www.omg.org/cgi-bin/doc?ptc/03-09-01

Hi,
the link to the diagram interchange page of Gentleware is http://www.gentleware.com/knowledge/dinterchange.php4. There will be soon an example for the diagram interchange.

Regards,

Stefan

11 months later...

There is still no sign of the XSL transformations on the gentleware website. After reading the 30 page UML Diagram Interchange 2.0 Adopted Specification, I could hardly wait to get my hands on some code. Apparently this is not my lucky day, and probably gentleware not my lucky site. Tried to understand something on http://www.jeckle.de/UML2SVG but there I found the most obfuscated XSLT files ever. My friends and I had enough of this and started writing our own transformations to get SVG out of XMI[DI]. It is not that hard, but it is a laborious task and I don?t know if we will ever make it right.

I am using now Poseidon on a regular basis, and respect you guys for releasing such a nice tool. However it is impossible for me to understand why you are hiding from the masses some example files referenced in an OMG Adopted Specification. Think of all the frustrated people that try that broken link every day. Not very good advertising for Gentleware, is it?

If you have questions concerning your own implementation of the XSLT please feel free to ask.
Do you plan to make your XSLT accessible for the community?

We are happy to announce that yesterday we have made our first public release of uml2svg on :
http://sourceforge.net/projects/uml2svg

Features:
-> Standard conformance
----> UML 1.5
----> XMI 1.2
----> SVG 1.1
----> XSLT 1.0

-> Complete support for:
----> Class Diagrams
----> Use Case Diagrams
----> State Diagrams
----> Sequence Diagrams
----> Collaboration Diagrams
----> Activity Diagrams
----> Deployment Diagrams

-> Good Documentation
-> Modularity
-> Extensibility
-> Comprehensible SVG
-> Multiple diagrams per XMI-file

One major difficulty in implementing uml2svg was that there are very few tools at this time that support the UML: Diagram Interchange specification. Poseidon was the tool that helped us the most, with its very good XMI support, so thank you guys.

However, we found two style related glitches in the XMI files generated by Poseidon. While the OMG specification indicates the properties "BackgroundColor" and "ForegroundColor", Poseidon generates XMI using the properties "fill" and "stroke", like defined in the SVG standard. As we know that the people from Gentleware have been very actively involved in the standardization process it is hard to tell if they are mistaken, or they just know things we, the ordinary people, have not yet heard about. What we did was to work around these small inconsistencies by supporting both the standard and nonstandard approach. However, we hope that once the final version of the specification will be published, all the inconsistencies will disappear.

Since we had some problems with the online edition we also provide a temporary mirror:
http://thor.info.uaic.ro/~mpnt/uml2svg
(remember this is only temporary, our website will be hosted by Sourceforge, so the address is:
http://uml2svg.sourceforge.net )
